View Article  Bumps in the Night

Guest post written by my buddy Bernardo Graham

After four years of roommates, it’s exciting to live by myself. I can watch whatever I want on television and the bathroom is always open. I never have to wonder if someone ate my last skinny cow ice cream sandwich or if my fancy steakhouse leftovers will be there when I get home. There’s no fighting over the phone bill (who made that one hour call to Alaska?) or having to vacate for a weekend while the boyfriend from out of town visits. No one prepared me, though, for how quiet it would be. The first few nights I woke up in the wee hours swearing I heard something go bump. Unfortunately there was no one to blame it on so I couldn’t go back to sleep! After several sleepless nights, I got smart. I did a search for adt JaMAica Plain and scheduled the first installation they had available! Now when I hear something go bump in the night I can go back to sleep knowing whatever it is it is NOT in the house with me!

View Article  Personalized Calendars
Our church is a year old now, and it's going really well! I love it there, and whenever I get the chance, I make sure to tell everyone about it. Word of mouth is the best way to generate business, but there's always the use of promotional products too!

Because I'm a true marketer at heart, I always think of ways to get the name of the church out there, and today I thought about doing personalized calendars for people! They're cheap enough, and there are a lot of great designs out there. Plus, who doesn't need a calendar to keep their lives together and organized? I have three calendars myself, but I'd love one for my purse... anyway, I have to pitch the idea to the Reverend. I'm sure he's going to like the idea, because I can get the logo and address of the church on the calendars with no problem, and we don't have to make a ton of them in the beginning. If they're a hit we can order more, and then we can hand them out the whole year rather than just during the holidays.

I have some time, so I've been playing around with images. I like a sort of neutral cover, but they may want one a bit more 'illustrated' than what I have in mind (read: Blue). I'd love to be able to pick them out and design the layout of the logo and address, but I'm not sure if they'll let me have the power, LOL!
