I'm so excited! Today we're going to celebrate "Earth Week" by going to two local U-pick farms.

The first one is called Hydro Harvest Farms. I've been getting their newsletter for over a year now, but this is the first time that we've been able to get out schedules together to go. I really like the idea of this farm because they use 80% less water than traditional farms, and have no carbon output! I'm interested to see if I may be able to do this type of gardening at my home as well so that's another bonus of going. Our soil here is so sandy and we have a lot of 'critters' that come into our yard, so the usual way of gardening proves to be almost impossible.

The second one we're going to is Parke Hydro. I'm not familiar with this farm, but they do have over 50 varieties of veggies to pick.
