This weekend was awesome!

Saturday we spent shopping for Ian's party which ended up costing us about $300 (for just the food!) and visiting family. In the afternoon Sean worked in the Man Cave while I studied, and then we watched a movie. Sean went to bed and I p stayed awake with Ian until around 11pm, which then ended up with Ian climbing in to bed with me when I went in. Ian spent the night grinding his teeth and throwing his limbs all over me, so I gave up and got up this morning at 4:30am.

Sean and I had coffee until a family friend came over to ride with Sean to the park. I did laundry until Ian woke up, then the two of us headed to the park to set up for his party.

What a blast! We had about 20 adults and 12 kids so there was quite a crowd. There was a lot of eating, a lot of laughter, and some wonderful memories made. The kids had a blast playing on the playground and in the sand, and I had fish-type crafts for them to make (Ian chose a fish theme. What a surprise). Ian got tons of gifts, and I was proud of him for remembering to say his Thank-you's to people!

Honestly, we've had the best luck every year (er, except for the year we had to cancel because he was sick). The weather is always beautiful and we always have a great time... I am so blessed that so many people care about my son! Every year I am awed by the number of people that come to celebrate the day with us, and I find myself getting choked up when I look around and see the outpouring to love. It's days like this that my heart feels completely full and happy.

I have pictures to upload when my PC stops being a butt-head. Probably tomorrow!

I am so happy I watched the debate last night: it only increased my desire to vote Republican.

It's funny how people's views can change so drastically in such a short amount of time. Granted, the topics were focused on the war and on Russia, but I got an idea of how wishy-washy Obama is. I vaguely remember him stating that he was against the war and wanted to pull our troops out ASAP, but as of last night that view is altered quite a bit!

I am also impressed by McCain's voting record (something Obama doesn't have since he can't seem to find his way into session!), as well as his experience through the years. In a time when our Country is in such a precarious state, I am hoping that someone with strong political ties and knowledge of political endeavors is put in to office.

I'm terrified of what will be if someone with little experience is standing as our Commander and Chief...

I don't know why I'm surprised that someone with such a crappy voting record wants to ignore their job. In my opinion: YOU ARE STILL A SENATOR and there are issues that need to be addressed! Our country is facing a crisis, something that's going to make history, yet a certain person wants to ignore that so they can talk about themselves? And, the ridiculous notion that "the next President needs to think about more than one thing at a time"? Give me a break

Fantastic. Just another reason I'm voting Republican this year!

Sean finally broke down and called his father to see if he's coming to Ian's birthday party. He is coming, but asked Sean what to get Ian. I told Sean to have his girlfriend pick it out just like every other year. The man doesn't even know his own Grandson, so who cares? (I am bitter, yes. It's not every day that a Grandfather lies to his own Grandson and misses his gymnastics recital because he doesn't want to come!)

I also heard from (well, not from exactly, but rather 'about' from another person) the other group I was talking about. earlier. They aren't coming and it's understandable why, but I still wish they would have called...

I didn't realize how long it's been since I've written anything! Sean had his surgery on Thursday and he can't do anything at all but sit on the couch. It's been up to me to take care of Ian and do all the housework, so I haven't had time to log on. I haven't even had two minutes to drop Entrecards, which is something I used to do daily!

We're gearing up for Ian's birthday party on Sunday and I'm excited for a day of friends and family. Ian's pretty excited too, though he doesn't quite get why we're having a party this month instead of November when his true birthday is, LOL!

People are funny though. Some RSVP'd right away, and still others haven't even bothered. I know it isn't a big deal for some people, but we're going to the park, bringing a big grill, and cooking ribs, chicken, and hotdogs. Everyone knows this, yet they don't care enough to respond? I have to buy the food by Friday and it's pissing me off that there are quite a few people whom we haven't heard a peep from! I told Sean to call his "family" and ask but he refuses, which is great because I really want to end up without enough food for the people who were polite and responded so that the unthinking people can eat! Better still will be to spend a lot of $$$ on food for people who won't even show up...
