View Article  Twice Blessed

As winter begins and snow starts to fall

I wonder if you know what blessings you are.

You’ve touched my life and brightened my soul,

A life in pieces now amazingly whole.

My heart was not full until you safely arrived;

A heart that was mourning those who did not survive.

You complete my family,

My hopes and my dreams,

I now know peace and all that it means.

Your presence a miracle,

A blessing, a gift-

Wonderful events my spirit to lift.

Lives entrusted to me

By the Universe, the Divine,

The Power that be,

Because of your presence,

I can now clearly see:

Everything is finally just as it should be.

Born to be your Mother,

A wandering lost soul

I’ve now found my answer,

My long-lost foothold.

I’ve been waiting for you,

My daughter and son,

Amazed that my internal battle has truly been won.

Today was just about perfect.

I met-up with an old friend of mine for coffee and had a wonderful time. We talked and laughed a lot while discussing the past, sharing some new stuff, and generally catching back up on each other's lives. The moment we started talking I found myself slipping back into that old comfort zone that I have with so few people, and I realized how happy I am that one horrible circumstance did not alter our friendship in the most important ways.

I picked Ian up at the usual time and we played games together while Reilly napped. After that I read some more of my Breaking Dawn book. Reilly woke up about an hour after I started reading, and she and I played on her sensory mat, then made silly faces at each other for a while.

Now Reilly is sleeping again and I'm about to get dinner ready. Then I get to play with my new phone! I'm debating on keeping the number assigned to it rather than switch my old cell number over, but I haven't made a decision on that yet.
