When I was a teenager I suffered from severe depression. I'm sure it was based around my lack of self esteem, but the fact of the matter was that I was sad all of the time, and I engaged in a lot of risky behavior that I still cringe about today.
There need to be more programs out there for improving teen self esteem! Programs like Kick out Stress are so important for our young people because, if the problems aren't addressed while their young, they threaten to carry over in to adulthood and cause a lifetime of unhappiness. Drug abuse, alcohol use, depression, anxiety... We have a hard enough time dealing with these issues as adults; just think how hard it is on our teenagers!
